I'll be strong. I always say that, but I don't know how much longer I could hold out. It's been four days. They keep me locked inside this dark room with only a slice of bread and some water to pass the day. At night, I cover my ears to block out their maniacal laughter. I cry myself to sleep, shivering in my worn out clothing. The big guy beats me up every time he's in a bad mood. It hurts, much more than dad's spanking when I fail in my exams.
